My name is Randall Snyder. I have worked in public and private education since 2013. Prior to beginning at La Villa Early College, I served as the Director of Public Safety for the Lower Rio Grande Valley Development Council. In this position I oversaw the operations of the Emergency Communications Division, Homeland Security, Criminal Justice, and Regional Police Academy. As the Police Academy Director, I developed curriculum and ensured the delivery of instruction to the cadets was in accordance with state guidelines.

I received my master’s degree in criminal justice from Lamar University in December of 2020. During my studies at Lamar University, I was published by the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences in the November 2020 Edition of the Academy of Criminal Justice Science ACJS Today for a book review of Punishing Poverty: How Bail and Pretrial Detention Fuel Inequalities in the Criminal Justice System. In addition to 24 years of law enforcement service, I have completed the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association (FBILEEDA) Leadership Trilogy program and earned the certification of Certified Public Manager through the Bob Ramsey Executive Education.

I am a retired armed forces veteran with 21 years of service. Some of my assignments in the military included Recruiter, Team Leader, Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, acting First Sergeant, and Liaison Officer for localized disaster response. Additionally, I served as a Team Leader and Liaison/Advisor to the United Nations Security Team in Kosovo and required the managing of information and intelligence sharing and between the United Nations Security Team and United Nations Police Force in conjunction with the mission of the United States Army.
