Locks, Lights, Out of Sight.
WHAT IT MEANS
A lockdown occurs when a threat or hazard is inside the building. Students will stay quiet and out-of-sight.
WHAT STUDENTS AND STAFF HEAR
"LOCKDOWN! Locks, Lights, Out of Sight"
WHAT WE'LL DO
Adults and staff are trained to:
Recover students from the hallway if possible
Lock the classroom door
Turn out the lights
Move away from sight
Maintain silence
Do not open the door
Prepare to evade or defend
WHAT YOU SHOULD DO
Staff are in lockdown for their protection and will not answer phones. Look for updates on social media or by text messaging. The scene is unsafe. Stay a safe distance away and wait for district and law enforcement instructions.
**In an event of a lockdown situation, the rooms will be cleared individually by either law enforcement or campus administrator/designee.
